If You Want It Do It – Don‘t Let the What If’s Get In the Way

never give up on a dream earl nightengaleOne of the most impactful pieces of advice I ever read was from Ann Landers. For those of you who never heard of her, she wrote an advice column for 47 years and always has something profound to teach that would make people think.

I actually referenced advice she had given to a writer about finishing college in my book (www.IfIKnewThenBook.com). She had told the writer who was concerned about not graduating until he was 45 years old, “When you are 45 years old, you will be a 45-year-old with or without a college degree.”  I remembered that advice when I re-enrolled in college to complete my Master’s degree. It took 20 years to accomplish that degree from when I graduated from high school, but I completed it.  That was 15 years ago, which sparked the writing of my book and the progression of the PREinvent YOUR Life® project and the hope to spark 1,000,000 people to create their best life.

Yes, we are busy, and life gets in the way. But, time keeps moving forward whether we do the things we have in our hearts to accomplish or not.

Don’t keep saying, “Someday I will _____________ (fill in the blank)”, because, unless you commit to the first step, someday can pass you by with the years going by whether you start that dream or you do not.

If you really want to do it you will find a way.  The quote reference from Earl Nightingale is the most profound and true, “Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”

Indeed.  Don’t let the “what if’s” get in the way.

Book the trip.  Start the business.  Take the first step.  Today.

Keep dreaming and creating and doing.

Every moment of your day can feel like you are at play, but only if you make it so.

I believe that it’s time to enjoy your life.

I believe that it is TIME to Play <3

Love,
