FEAR – False Evidence Appearing Real

Fear False Evidence Appearing RealF.E.A.R. – it is the root of so many negative feelings and negative outcomes. False worry. Stories we create in our mind. Things that we imagine happening that don’t materialize. A loss of time that we could, otherwise, spend in a better manner and, instead, enjoy life.

F.E.A.R – False Evidence Appearing Real. The word “Expectations” has also been used for the “E” and is maybe even more powerful.

What do we really expect in life?  Failure?  Pain?  Disappointment — or Success and an AWESOME life outcome and life experience.

I have heard the acronym before, and this morning happened upon it on my Wayne Dyer calendar.  I like to share things that resonate with me with the hope it will help someone else, too.

Finding this pensive addition from Gary Busey, “It’s the darkroom where Satan develops his negatives”, gave even more power to the message of our thoughts helping or hurting use.

Our mindset, and stories we tell ourselves, can empower us or can be our downfall.

In my book, If I Knew Then What I Know Now, Our Quest for Quality of Life, (www.ifiknewthenbook.com) I wrote, “If I Knew Then What I Know Now: I now know that a mind is a terrible thing to waste, but it may sometimes be a terrible thing to have. I have learned that our thoughts can keep us from rising to our full potential; that we can create our own prisons, sentencing us to live as tortured souls.”

Truth.

Today, recognize your thoughts that are creating that negative downward spiral you may be experiencing and STOP it.

You do have the power to stop it.

Everything I have been learning to stop negative thinking points to self-awareness.  Self-awareness is a key and the foundational skill set of our own emotional intelligence — which, by the way is learned behavior that NO ONE teaches us.

Emotional intelligence is a skill our parents didn’t know, and you can’t teach what you don’t know.  Lack of emotional intelligence creates “broken” people who create “broken” kids and the cycle continues – something else I wrote about in my book.

Any time we can get awareness about ourselves and tools to control our thoughts — to STOP and take a moment to shut our unconscious downward spiral down — to recognize the thoughts that help us or hurt us, is an amazing thing.

If you need help stopping the downward spiral and need some inspiration to get “unstuck”, give us a call.  My vision has been to create a community where we can empower each other to live the best life ever for ourselves, our family and our community.  I continue to strive forward to do just that.

I believe that we can make every moment of our day feel like we are at play – not existing, surviving, healing, changing, reinventing, and recovering.

Just plain enjoying our life.  It is time for you, too, to enjoy life. It is TIME to Play <3

Love,
