Today May Be Your Someday

control your destiny or someone else will jack welch

Everything I learn keeps pointing to, and emphasizing, the importance of our own individual Self-Awareness.

I believe that, sometimes, we  believe what we keep getting told — maybe stuff we were told in our youth — that the things we desire or see in our lives may be “unrealistic” or that we “can’t”.  Maybe we don’t even realize this happened or is happening to us (hence the self-awareness).

I believe that we learn to keep down our emotions, or what we envision for our lives, or a passion or a desire.

I believe that things that we would like to pursue get pushed to the back burner because of our personal obligations or other life situations that have become incorporated into our lives and, somehow, became priorities that took over our day to day activities.

If this seems like your experience, please know that all is not lost.

It is never too late to shift what you are experiencing to something amazing or to take your education or circumstance or training and use it in a way that better suits you so you become excited to wake up and get going in your day.

Today, take a moment to do a little inventory of what’s going on in your life.

Maybe today is your “someday” to just start on that “dream”.

Here’s a little inspiration from Steve Harvey: a video entitled Just Start Today.  He has a pretty impressive story — from being homeless to “just starting”…  he has become just a little successful — by starting.  https://youtu.be/RNWNVl955g4

He said in the video, “Every time you put it off, you seem further away from it, don’t you” — at minute marker 5:10 …. and it’s so true.

Today, change your “can’t” to “today is someday”.  When you decide, you will find a way to make “it” happen.

Any time we can get awareness about ourself and tools to control our thoughts — to STOP and take a moment to shut our unconscious downward spiral down — to recognize the thoughts that help us or hurt us, is an amazing thing.

Self-awareness is a LEARNED behavior.  We are not born with the ability to have self-awareness, we learn it.

Today, try to not let the voices tell you stories.  Make today, your right now, what you can control, your focus.

I believe that it’s time to enjoy your life.

I believe that it is TIME to Play <3

Love,

Doreen Guma

PS — I, personally, see positive and possibilities in every person I meet.  Over the years I have recognized that pushing a vision down causes people to lose their spark or causes “I can’t” frustration.  I truly do my best to encourage others, including my children, to find a way to make their vision a reality, and how what they are passionate about can turn into their “job”.  For coaching for Self-Awareness, one of the 26 Emotional Intelligence skills, please call the Time to Play Foundation, 631-331-2675 or email doreen@timetoplay.com
