I woke this morning thinking about my daughter and her drive to “do” life. Honestly, she does impress me. When she wants to do something she does it. When she wants to experience something she does it.
Last night she went to a concert in NYC that started at 10 pm. YES! 10 pm. I’m usually already sleeping. BUT, there’s more — the concert ENDED at 8 AM. Not kidding — 10 pm to 8 am!!!
She wanted to go and experience the event, and she DID. Maybe this is an extreme example that I would have talked myself out of attending, but, like I said, Jackie impresses me.
She does not dwell on the “why not”, but she goes for it.
I believe, somehow, many of us lose adventure in our lives. I’m not sure why or how. I guess fear takes over, and of course there is responsibility for our bills, our jobs, our families, and sometimes just excuses for our “why not”.
Sometimes life stops being something we live, but sometimes it becomes a chore.
Sometimes it’s important for us to take a moment to STOP and re-evaluate what we are doing in our daily routine.
Ask yourself: Is life “sucking” out your happiness or are you enjoying your day?
I know it may seem like a foreign concept — I’ve been there, too, where I have had to unravel my “painful” life experience and how I became just existing through my days to prioritize the things that are most important. My life had become so full of “have to’s” I forgot that I was supposed to be enjoying my days, not just getting through them.
I believe we should be enjoying our life, that every moment of our day should feel like we are at “play”. That is the goal for the Time to Play Foundation – to remind us that we can enjoy our life. That life should feel like it is play. That it is joy. That we have satisfaction and see beauty in our day.
The first step is self-awareness. To recognize how you feel and to recognize what the root cause for those feelings are and to STOP and take a moment to shift your feelings towards that of positive and possibilities.
The Foundation has resources available to make this happen in your life. It is not a dream, and we are not unrealistic. We just have to unravel the beliefs we are told that life is hard, that we “can’t” do something, that we have to just do everything to “exist” or “survive” and make it through our week to hold out to the weekend.
It does not have to be that way. Today can be your day to start shifting towards YOUR possible and possibilities.
Our life experiences are finite. We can go on the way we are, or we can start to believe and learn what we need to know so we can enjoy our life.
I believe it’s time to enjoy your life. It is TIME to Play <3 Love,
