Stephanie has worked for Maryhaven Center of Hope for 5 1/2 years as a Direct Care Coordinator, Activities Coordinator, and Team Leader. She works with adult individuals with autism. It is so important to Stephanie that she makes a special connection with each individual. It is obvious Stephanie has a special gift when working with individuals that are intellectually disabled or autistic. They light up when she's around. Stephanie wants to work as a school psychologist in the future-helping children receive the services they need and deserve. She also participates and volunteers at charitable 5k, 10K, half marathons, and marathons. She goes above and beyond with everything she does. She truly is an "unsung hero." She serves others humbly, and she is a true unsung hero. Emily assists seniors with technology at the local library. She also volunteers at the local senior center assisting with recreational activities. To help enrich the lives of younger children, she volunteers at the library to promote literacy and play . She has been part of the library's Dr. Seuss Celebration where she assisted with various activities and crafts. She is an ambassador for the organization, Project Night Night. She fills bags with a book, stuffed animal, and blanket and delivers them to shelters to give to homeless children. She volunteers at Kid's Kloset. There she prepares bags of clothing for children in need. She volunteers in various charities such as Ball Gowns and Bowling shoes, where she bowls to raise money for individuals with special needs. She has participated in fashion shows to raise money for local charities. She donates food and items to the local homeless shelter. Emily is constantly looking for ways to enrich the lives of others. She does not look for anything in return. Her true goal is to make someones day brighter. The band members are all working professionals including a Judge, several lawyers, a psychologist, and a physical therapist. The band generously gives back to society and often performs free of charge. The band uses live music to help people "ENJOY LIFE" at a wide variety of charity events, fundraising events, and not-profit events. Using music, the band has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for “just causes” over the past several years. The band has supported charities like the March of Dimes, Why Hunger, Cow Harbor Wounded Warriors Project, Northport Ecumenical Food Pantry, Salvation Army Home for Homeless Veterans, Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, the DDI School for Autistic Children, Law Rocks, American Kidney Fund, Rock CAN Roll, Friends of the Farm, the Veterans' medical center, various hospitals, etc. The band has received countless letters of appreciation. Leader to protect our environment and has saved many acres of land in Brookhaven town she was responsible for getting everyone on the same page for the Carmens River plan and much much moreDonna has been a nurses aide since I first met her some 35 years ago. From hospital work she went on to hospice care, private duty and now works for the Vets home. Her smile and laughter are infectious, I am floored when I see her with her patients, the compassion and respect she gives them is unequaled. She has got to be one of the funniest people I know and it shows when her patients see her no matter how infirmed they may be they can't keep the smile from their face or the sparkle from their eyes.To me she is simply AMAZING. Donna D'andrea is an open, giving soul,never expecting anything from anyone just to spread her joy where she can.Josh Fryman is the pastor of Community Baptist Church in Riverhead, NY. He has the philosophy of sharing unconditional love and what this looks like from him is his willingness to do whatever he can to help those in need. He has also served to be an encouraging and inspirational figure to many people, including myself. Josh helped me through times where I was depressed and lost in life. I am so grateful for my interactions with him and for the time that he sacrificed to build a lifelong friendship with me. I could not think of any other person to nominate than Josh Fryman. Charles is the co-founder of the Greenway trail that runs between Port Jefferson Station and Setauket. This man never gave up. It took over 10 years, but he saw the project through and continues to do so. He did an amazing thing for the community that will be there for generations to enjoy.
